SHERRI OTT "LEGEND OF WEST MARIN LITTLE LEAGUE"
In November 2024, long time San Geronimo Valley resident Sherri Ostrander Ott Adams passed away. Sherri was a parent and grandparent of several WMLL players, served as President of West Marin Little League, and signed the league’s articles of incorporation in 1983 before going on to serve as the Little League District 3 Administrator, the President of Presidents, for the 11 local Little Leagues from Novato to San Francisco. She served in this capacity for 25 years. From her obituary:
Lover of all things family, Little League, knitting, gardening and being on their boat with Ted, Sherri was a force to be reckoned with. Whatever she got involved with, she put all of her energy into it and made it fun. She served for 25 years as District 3 Administrator for Little League Baseball, presiding over Marin and San Francisco counties, after being president of West Marin Little League. Not only was Sherri the first woman in this role, but she also met Ted at a Little League game. She was a lifelong tax preparer, volunteer for Hospice and Commodore of the Petaluma Yacht Club in 2022. In her mom’s words, “You done good kid.”
To honor the memory of Sherri Ott and recognize the generational contribution she made to Little League not just in West Marin but the wider North Bay and San Francisco Little League region, the West Marin Little League Board voted to name Sherri Ott a “Legend of West Marin Little League.”
To inspire future generations to make lasting contributions, the Legend of West Marin Little League recognition may be awarded to those who follow Sherri’s example by making generational contributions to the community that improve the lives of children both on and off the baseball field.
“If you just play by the rules, everything will be fine.”
- Sherri Ott
