Baseball Bats
Each team will be given a few size & weight appropriate bats for the team to use, although your player is welcome to bring their own bat as well. Per Little League guidelines, only approved bats featuring the USA Bat certification are allowed for Little League use. Any bats not displaying this certification, or showing other certifications such as USSSA and BBCOR are not permitted.
Umpires are responsible for checking all bats in the dugout prior to each game.

Team Jersey
Provided by West Marin Little League. Depending on your division, the jersey may be a button up (must be returned to the league after the season ends), or a t-shirt (which may be kept by the player after the season ends). Team jerseys will be distributed to the team during the first few weeks of practice.
Team Hat
Provided by West Marin Little League. Team hats will be distributed to the team during the first few weeks of practice.
Belts
A baseball belt is required and not provided by the league. Your coach will select the color based on team colors once the season begins.
Socks
Baseball socks are required and not provided by the league. Your coach will select the color based on team colors once the season begins
Baseball Pants
Baseball pants are required and not provided by the league. Your coach will select the color based on team colors once the season begins. It is strongly suggested to have at least one additional pair so that your child can wear these during practice as well.
Glove
Baseball gloves are required and not provided by the league.
It is suggested to avoid buying an oversized glove. Beginners should stick to a smaller glove for additional control. It does take time to break in your new glove. No matter what you do, most will agree that the most effective way to break in a baseball glove is by using it. Most gloves have the pre-measured size stamped inside where the pocket is. Below are general sizes:
Tee-Ball 9-10
Infield 10 - 11.75
Pitcher 11.5 - 12.25
Outfield 11.5 - 12.25
Batting Gloves
Batting gloves are optional and a personal preference of the player.
Cleats
Baseball cleats are required and is arguably the most important baseball item you can buy your child. If you want your child to truly learn and enjoy any sport as well as avoid injury, you will go out of your way to purchase them appropriate shoes. Cleats with metal spikes are not permitted. Shoes with molded cleats are permissible. No soccer cleats if possible.
Helmets
The league provides each team with a few helmets, but it is recommended that each player purchase their own. Altering the helmet in any form, including painting or adding decals (by anyone other than the manufacturer or authorized dealer) may void the warranty. Faceguards are permitted, provided they were fitted to the helmet by the manufacturer and contain all of the original fasteners.
Athletic Supporters / Cups
All male players playing divisions higher than Tee Ball must wear an athletic supporter / cup. Combination compression/sliding shorts with a pocket for a cup are available at T&B Sports or Sports Basement.
Equipment Bag
Baseball equipment bags are an optional item but are very nice to have. It's suggested to purchase a bag with a hook allowing the player to hang it on the dugout fence to keep their gear organized and clean (as well as keeping the dugout from having too much stuff on the ground).
Baseballs
Baseballs are provided by West Marin Little League.
Catcher's Gear
Each team will be provided with a few sets of full catcher's gear, including all pads, helmet and gloves. If bringing your own gear, catchers must wear approved long or short model chest protectors. All catchers must wear chest protectors with the neck collar, throat guard, shin guards and catcher's helmet, all of which must meet Little League specifications and standards. All catchers must wear a mask, “dangling” type throat protector and catcher's helmet during infield/outfield practice, pitcher warm-up and games.
